Every family member of the household needs to agree to the adoption of the cat or kitten. You must either own a home or rent and have approval to have a cat or kitten. We will need to see the lease prior to adoption.

Same day adoptions may be possible, but we reserve the right to an at-home visit before or after the adoption to ensure the safety of the animal.

If, for any reason after the adoption, you are not able to take care of the cat or kitten you must return it to Fisher Valley Felines.
95% of all cats and kittens that are adopted from Fisher Valley Felines have been pulled from kill shelters days before being euthanized. The shelters we usually get them from are located in Illinois and Kentucky. - The kill rates for animals in these states are very high so we help when we can.

We DO NOT perform any of the testing on the kittens we adopt out. Registered vets takes care of this for us. - YOU ARE GIVEN ALL MEDICAL RECORDS

We take care of each kitten like they are our own children. We don't do this for the money (We don't make money doing it) We do it to save their lives. This isn't our job or a hobby. This has become our life's passion and we treat it as such.

Our kittens are well taken care of. They are raised on Pro Plan and Fancy feast. When they get sick we take them to a registered vet. - We do not "medicate" on our own like some other shelters.

If one of our kittens is at an adoption event it is because it is healthy. You know what you are getting.
All of our kittens and cats have been:
Spayed or neutered
Tested for FeIV/Fiv (Cats older than 6 months)
Tested for FeIV(Cats younger than 6 months)
Given their shots
Dewormed
Microchiped
Given an exam from a registered vet
All of the Cats/Kittens that go through Fisher Valley Felines are given all of their shots, tested for feline leukemia, and are spayed and neutered. The expense of these tests and medical procedures are strictly coming "out of pocket" since we do not receive outside funding.

By the time you adopt a cat or kitten from Fisher Valley Felines your adoption fee barely covers the cost that we spend on them. We do not do this for the money. Rather, we believe that even if we don't break even it doesn't matter... We saved a life.

The adoption fee of $90.00/adult cat, $125.00/kitten, and $150.00/specialty breed, goes towards the coverage of this expense. NOTE: We do not make a profit by finding a home for the kitties.

Kittens and cats can also be reserved (held) for a non-refundable $50.00 deposit.
